Locks Of Love...

I've been growing my hair for about a year and it was FINALLY time... So, I called up my brother - yeppers, who needs to leave the house (as you can see all the dirty dishes piled up in the background) when you can call your big brother for help? Some may think I'm slightly nuts; however, I'm not too obsessed with my hair and the only difference between a good
and bad hair cut is about two weeks - no biggie!
My favorite comment on the evening: Erik *snip* "Well, there is no turning back now..."

17-19 inches later...

I donated the hair to Locks of Love and am excited to think that it went to a great cause.

Damon's Projects

For those of you who don't know Damon... there are ALWAYS projects to be done. These projects can range from make a snowplow/mower/bucket for the Rhino, tearing out and remodling the bathroom or in this case... 'just moving the garden shed'... I wanted to posted some pictures of his lastest project he started and finished all in a days work.
We have been talking about moving the garden shed because it is a stupid location - right in the middle of the yard. The one problem was this really large stump - which D informed me that we would rent a stump grinder to get rid of... he changed his mind. :)
He had to recruit some help... Erik got a quick lesson on driving the ASV, which we can all see he is feeling confident about, and the removing started...

However, that didn't work... so we resorted to other means of getting the stump out... Yep, he's wearing rubber boots with his shorts - I have friends who get pictures of their kids like this... anyone else with a husband with this much style? We ended up with a broken basement window... not sure if it was from the little chunks that came off the stump OR if it was from D's mowing job done earlier that day?? And who can resist posting this picture?? Who would have thought I would get one of Mark and Erik doing the SAME thing just days apart?? LOVE IT! He did get the shed moved and it looks great but decided the stump was a little too big to take care of on his own - so he cut off the top and covered it back up! This is just one of the thousands of reasons why I love Damon... such a handy person and innovative!

The 4th of July...

This 4th of July Damon and I decided to do something out of the ordinary - we went to the cities. Yep, we were going the opposite direction of just about everyone in the state of Minnesota! Hard to believe the traffic that we ran into coming up North - a pretty popular place for the 4th of July celebration! :) It makes us glad to live where we do!
We went to a Twins Game (Damon and Anthony's first), had a spectacular display of fireworks from the backyard and ate a Famous Daves! It was a relaxing weekend and
we were glad to be able to spend it with the Hansons!
So here are the pictures of our weekend - enjoy! :)

Yes, we even went out and bought Twins attire! Apparently
you can't show up at a game without... We were trying to get noticed with our gear - it didn't work but we
had a great time and looking great at the same time!

Damon trying on some pre-game gear... he he!There were even a few mice that showed up for the game. Kind of funny... all of a sudden a section is 'doing the wave' as they are trying to get a way from the confused mouse. The group of people are all trying to trap the poor little guy and the boy below is holding up his treasure. There were two mice altogether that were just trying to enjoy the game
before everyone started freaking out!And for the actual July 4th celebration...
Our very skilled fireworks coordinators...

Fireman Mark...And Yes, no celebration is complete without letting a child play with fire -
Uncle Damon was on this task with sparklers! Thank You Hansons for a fun and relaxing weekend! We truly enjoyed ourselves!
