Finger Painting Fun...

I love that they are just as interested in getting messy as their Mama... And their art was AmAzInG! :)

A day in the Life...

- Harvey got 'Noodled' (neutered) according to Ash this last week. They sent home an informational page saying that he should stay 'calm/mellow' for 10-14 days... do they know Harvey? Riiiight...

- Taitum started her first day back at daycare last week. I wasn't sure how it would go since she hasn't been to daycare in 2 years. Simply said she handed me my work gloves and said 'Me - Kathy's... You - urk (work)' ... you could say she's adjusting just fine. :)

- Our show season kicked off this last week in town... we're excited to get started on the new season and starting working towards our goals again. Winter break is super nice but more sunshine and working on metal is on the brain.

- Today I was picking up the house. Doing dishes, sweeping, cleaning the toilets and both the kiddos kept asking me who was coming over. ?? I apparently do not clean my house unless there is company coming. They had a long list of who they thought should be coming to visit them... hated to disappoint but sometimes the toilet just needs to be scrubbed.

- Last week brought a lot of unexpected deaths in our communities. It makes one step back and evaluate just how uncertain your life expectancy truly is. I believe we all have expiration dates - just never certain as to when they are, obviously. I can only hope that from the pain and sorrow that these deaths have cause - growth, self awareness and excessive joy for life has also developed in others. Hugs your kids. Say 'I love you'. Smile at a stranger. The wonderful souls that left this world - left a lot to be learned.

- Taitum, my sweet baby girl, you don't sleep. I don't even believe you like to sleep. I know that this is topic of conversation quite a bit in my life - mainly because I feel like I"m walking around in a haze BUT I want to set this straight... I love how you are made. I love that you require 5 hours of sleep and I require 10. I love that you can make me laugh at 2am because you think funny faces are an appropriate way to greet me when I open your door. I love that you've learned what level of crazy screaming gets my attention every time and you know I'll be there. I love you sweet girl and even though I complain about my lack of sleep and how it affects me, it's so perfectly fits you. ♥

Speaking of sleep.... maybe I should try and grab some while the babes are out! One last thought re: Harvey's Noodling.... Ash, you are completely raw, honest and real with your questions regarding this process. You are so confused as to where does one put those little 'ball things' when they're done with them? ;)

Lake of the Woods...

Just a few short weeks ago D and I went on a fishing trip with some friends up to LOTW. It was sort of a bucket list trip for us - we'd always wanted to go on a 'guided trip' on the ice... mainly so we'd catch some fish since we're never very lucky in that aspect. :) Weeks later I'm still thinking about how much fun that trip was... the chance to get away with my hubby for a weekend. A weekend that wasn't work related - just fun. It was a good reminder that every once in a while - it's okay to get away. It's okay to leave the kids for a few days to go re-energize yourself. As parents, as a spouse - for yourself. I'm hopeful that we can remember this as we face another year - sometimes it's okay to step away from it all (with or without the kids) and simply just enjoy.

So we didn't catch massive amounts but we made up for that with lots of laughs. :)

Harby Goes to the Vet..

Asher was very concerned about what it meant to have Harby go to the vet. A lot of questions about shots, doctors, etc... So being as though this is his puppy - he got to come along and answer all the questions the Vet had for us re: our new puppy. When we first walked in they asked us if they could help us or if we had an appointment... my pretty shy child says loud enough for the whole place to hear "Yep, Harby Walicker has an appointment". From there on out Asher did a great job informing the Vet that Harbey likes to bite (which is why he has to have a nozzle on ;)), he pees all over the house, gets in trouble a lot and doesn't seem to mind his kennel. Harvey is definitely a hand full and definitely a decision we question daily but our plan is working perfectly... Asher and Harby are best buds, which is definitely worth all the extra crazy.

She's Here...

I'm delayed.

By 2 years.... but Taitum Jane please know that you are loved, loved, LOVED and I could not ask for  a perfect little girl for our family...

God knew EXACTLY what I needed. You. Are. It.

Just a thought...

Life is not a race - but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work Hard. Be choosy. Say, "thank you", and "great job" to someone each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you've been given, it is not accidental. Search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often. Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself. Plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you've been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment. -Bonnie Mohr
